Here’s kind of a high key treatment of a rose photo I took today. I adjusted levels, used a high pass filter and added a layer on blend mode Screen. Processed as always in Photoshop Elements 6. Camera settings: Canon T1i, F/11, 1/100 sec., ISO 800, focal length 100 mm. No flash.

I was playing around with this photo and the Blur/Smart Blur filter. The original was cropped and levels adjusted. Then I ran it through Blur/Smart Blur and used settings of Radius – 3 and Threshold – 25. The other settings were Quality – High and Mode – Overlay Edge. The result was dodged and burned [...]
