Went to Woodward Park with the family today. The breeze kept me from getting very good reflections, but the sparkles of light in the late afternoon were worth waiting for. I processed this photo in Photoshop Elements 6 with a levels adjustment, an unsharp mask and Filter/Distort/Diffuse Glow. I then dodged and burned the final photo. Camera settings: f/6.3, 1/400 sec., focal length 21 mm, ISO 64. Taken with my Fujifilm FinePix S700.
I bought and installed Photoshop Elements 10 but I am not sure yet if it was a wise purchase. I have become so comfortable with PSE6. The good price at Costco was too hard to pass up, however! So I will fiddle with it and see how I like it. (I hate getting used to new software!

Sara’s Cody sitting by the sliding glass door. He doesn’t want to go out, but he loves surveying all that goes on. That, and sitting in the sun for hours!! Processed in Photoshop Elements 6 with Topaz Adjust 5. Love all the final additions in Topaz Adjust 5. I was lucky enough to get one of my presets included in the final version. It is called Vintage and is in the Toned Collection.
I did some white vignetting and some dodging to the image. Camera settings: f/5.6, 1/60 sec., ISO 1000, focal length 55 mm. No flash.

Kinda stretching this one as we haven’t had enough cold weather to really change the leaves on our trees much. This photo was processed in Photoshop Elements 6 with adjusted levels, unsharpen mask and Topaz Adjust 5 Release Candidate. This should be the last beta before the new Topaz Adjust 5 is released. I used a custom preset of my own in processing this photo. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
Camera settings: f/6.3, 1/100 sec., focal length 49 mm, and ISO 100. No flash.

Here’s another photo processed through PE6 and Topaz Adjust beta 5. I have really enjoyed being a beta tester for Topaz and this new Adjust version is really something! There are a ton of presets including cross process and Lomo settings, cool and warm settings and grunge settings, too! I think that users are going to be very happy with the new version of Adjust.
Settings for this photo were: f/11, 1/60 sec., focal length 55 mm and ISO 200.

Just a pinecone. This was processed in Photoshop Elements 6 with Topaz Adjust sketch. This actually looks better enlarged I think. I like the sketch effect as you have seen! Camera settings: f/5.6, 1/60 sec., focal length 55 mm, ISO 160. The air was really clear here today as it rained last night. It is turning colder finally. The trees are just now starting to get some color. Doesn’t seem like Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away.

One of my last rose bushes to bloom this fall. This photo was processed in Photoshop Elements 6 and Topaz Adjust. I made a custom preset in Topaz Adjust to get the warm, antique-like look. Other than that, it is just cropped and sharpened. I had a tough time getting shots today because it was kind of windy. Camera settings: f/5, 1/50 sec., focal length 44 and ISO 125. I am beta testing the new Topaz Adjust 5 and love the new settings and flexibility that is built in. It should be available soon.

We lost this beautiful mare in the last week. Such a sad day. She was our last Morgan horse after raising them for over 30 years. We miss her.

Processed using Filter/Sketch/Photocopy in Photoshop Elements 6. Changed blending mode to color burn. Used a wood texture set on Overlay for the frame. I did a lot of burning on this one to bring back the outlines of the rose hips. Hope you are all having a good week!

This photo was snapped by my husband and I did the post processing in Photoshop Elements 6. I darkened with levels to get the silhouette look and added a teal/pink gradient map to the final photo. I really like the versatility of the teal/pink gradient map and have used it for several photos. It is especially great for toning photos that are too warm. I hope to do more exploring with gradient maps. The Photoshop Elements Techniques website has some great info and video on the subject. Camera settings: f/4, 1/640 sec., focal length 65 mm, ISO 125. No flash.
